About Us
Courtney Phillips
President & Creative Director
Courtney leads Phillips Marketing with nearly three decades of experience in marketing strategy, brand development, and digital communications. Her expertise spans brand and campaign development, media planning, website design and support, and social media strategy. Before joining Phillips Marketing, Courtney served as senior marketing manager for one of North Carolina’s most successful shopping centers. She holds the Certified Marketing Director designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers, and she was awarded GGP’s Best Shopping Center Marketing award from a field of more than 200 properties nationwide.
Outside the office, Courtney enjoys reading, playing tennis, spending time with her not-so-little-anymore kids, and catching up on streaming shows everyone else finished months ago.
What’s she reading:
My Name is Barbra by Barbra Streisand. “At over 900 pages, this book will be in my hands for quite some time! I was not overly familiar with her work outside of the ‘Meet the Parents’ franchise, but I knew she had a loyal following. While I have a lot left to read, it captures her life in amazing detail, and it is an interesting peek into the life of a rising celebrity during the 60s and 70s.” – Courtney
What’s she listening to:
Usually, a podcast with Smartless as her go-to.
Susan Caddell
Founder & Senior Consultant
Outside the office, Susan enjoys reading, writing, spending time with her friends, and traveling. She counts among her favorite places: Greece, Paris at Christmastime, and wherever she is going next!
What’s she reading:
We Begin at The End, by Chris Whitaker. “In 2025, I read All the Colors of the Dark by Whitaker, a UK author. I was captivated by his writing style and couldn’t put the book down. When I finished it, I wanted more. We Begin at The End won the UK’s Gold Dagger Award for a crime novel. Like All the Colors of the Dark, it is a page-turner. The characters are well developed, the plot has twists and turns, and then there’s a big ‘I did not see that coming.’ I have a goal of reading 70 books in 2026 and I’m off to a solid start.” – Susan
What’s she listening to:
A little bit of everything, mostly focusing on music that lifts her spirits or makes her smile. From the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, to cool jazz, and from Jimmy Buffett to Cece Winans.
